Focus Lunch – December 2014

The CIKA team is indeed fortunate to have had such a longstanding relationship with the Macedon Ranges Focus Group and we know that, when we attend the last Focus Lunch each year, Christmas is well on the way. This year CIKA was represented by Faye, Steve, Sala, Ellie, Pam and long-time CIKA supporter Bev Jenkins who, along with seventy Focus members, enjoyed a wonderful lunch and a visit from Santa.

We are indebted to these wonderful women who are constantly creating new ways to raise money; they are everywhere: at the Bendigo Lunch, on bike rides, selling calendars, running raffles and organizing fundraising lunches at Crown, as well as managing
their monthly Focus Group meetings. This year CIKA was presented with a cheque for $10,000.00, a fantastic donation from an inspiring group of volunteers. It brings their total contribution to CIKA’s fight against childhood cancer to well over $100,000.

Our thanks also to Gwen and Andy Kakafikas for their very generous ongoing donation and also to Bronwyn Judge for her donation.

Our treasurer seems to be trying to extract more cash from Santa.
