A Generous Donation

CIKA was recently the recipient of the generous donation of a wooden rocking horse.

Phil Johnson and his wife had, in years past, benefited from the services provided by the Royal Children’s Hospital.  When they won the rocking horse in a raffle, they donated it to the Hospital as a way of showing their appreciation and suggested that it could be used as a means of raising funds.

The horse, made by the Knox Woodworkers Club, has been christened “Dolly”, has never been ridden and is in excellent condition.  Dolly is a substantial animal at 105 tall and is estimated to be worth something over $2,000.  She will be raffled a second time, on this occasion by CIKA, as the headline item at this year’s Old Time Wood Days in November and the proceeds will assist us in our support of the Children’s Cancer Centre.

We are very grateful to the Johnsons for their generosity.
