2011 Donvale Neighbourhood Charity Auction
The inaugural Donvale Charity auction was held on the 28th of Feburary at the home of Jenny and George Tselepi. The afternoon was an outstanding sucsess with over 61 guests attending and $5000 .00 has been raised.
Jenny and her wonderful family had reconfigured their living space to accommodate the seating for their guests and the all the tables were beautifully decorated with each guest receiving a complimentary soap.
The local business community was most generous with many articles for auction donated and every guest also donated a gift to assist with the fund raising.
The afternoon commenced with a welcome from President Sandra Lehrer followed by a brief talk by Vice President Ellen Webb discussing the work that CIKA supports.
The guests enjoyed a very delicious afternoon tea which also included an array of very fine Greek cakes and biscuits.
The auction was in the most capable hands of Michelle Lanigan and for over two and a half hours she cajoled and squeezed the sales from the guests.
The CIKA team were very proud to have Mary Mc Gowan representing the Children’s Cancer Centre in attendance and Mary delivered a heartfelt thanks for all the wonderful work done by Jenny and her family.It was wonderful to have the CIKA members in attendance Sandra Lehrer, Ellen Webb and Fay Love. Several members of the Friends of CIKA were spotted Pam Phillips, Michelle Lanigan, Lyn Weber, and Margaret and Geoff Greenwood.
CIKA would like to pay a special thanks to Pam Phillips who helped Jenny put this event together and Jenny’s hospitality will ensure that this will be a must go to event next year.
