Third Bendigo Cup-day Luncheon

The 2015 Bendigo Luncheon held on September 29th was a great success thanks to the untiring efforts of Sala Rubinstein, Ruth Edelsten and their many helpers. Here is a report on the event written by Sala.

What a fun day we had! After three years of having helped put this luncheon together, to see it grow to such a successful event with 165 guests attending was amazing. The chatter and laughter amongst everyone makes this event even more enjoyable. Many thanks to Ian Nichols from KLFM Bendigo Radio Station for being MC, his skills as a broadcaster came into action, especially in managing the very chatty guests!

Special thanks to the wonderful “Mary Mac ” who made a great presentation, updating everyone on the progress that CIKA is making in funding research and how far we have come in our thirty five years.

We had great support from Bendigo Bank: they booked a table and Aggie Poliafico presented to the guests the information on the R.C.H./Bendigo Bank relationship.

As always we had a large contingent from the Macedon Ranges Group and it speaks volumes that they hired a bus to attend the luncheon.

Thank you to Ellie, from “Merinda Boutique” and Narena from “The Hat Shop” for organizing the clothing and hats for the parade which was very successful. Our models who are everyday women, did a great job parading all the beautiful outfits.

A big thanks to “Friend of CIKA ” Ruth Edelsten for organizing this event, the raffles and many spot prizes. You are a gem and we are so lucky to have you on our team with your many family and friends.

Over $4,700,00 was raised on the day, a fabulous result well done to all those that volunteered and supported this event.
