Park Run for CIKA

Cancer In Kids @The RCH (CIKA) is a volunteer organization that raises funds for paediatric cancer research.

The Box Hill Silk Road Lions Club is organising a fundraiser for CIKA, taking place from 8.30 a.m., to midday on Sunday February 23.  It involves a 5 km run, walk or stroll starting from the BBQ shelter opposite Deakin University carpark 6, Holland Avenue, Burwood.  All those who complete the course will receive a certificate of participation and the first to finish will win a bicycle valued at $700.

The event is open to anyone wanting to enjoy a morning taking in the scenery along Gardiners Creek, so come along and join in whatever your pace!  You will be helping the Box Hill Silk Road Lions in their efforts to support CIKA and the fight against childhood cancer.

To register, go to the site at https://events.humanitix.com/park-run-for-cancer-in-kids-rch

About CIKA
Cancer In Kids @The RCH, better known as CIKA, was founded in 1980 by three sets of parents whose children had died from a solid cancerous tumour.  It is a volunteer organization composed of parents and friends of children who have been diagnosed and treated.
Since its inception, all fundraising has been dedicated to raising community awareness of childhood cancer and investing in clinical research that will provide world class treatment and care to provide the best possible outcomes.
CIKA has raised over $4.5 million since 1980 and ALL monies have been applied to clinical research within the Children’s Cancer Centre at The RCH and at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
