More from the Sheilas’ Shed
Way back in 2010 a group of women came together with the common goal of raising funds for the auxiliaries at The Royal Children’s Hospital. Since then, they have created many different products that can be used in the home and also make lovely small gifts that can be shared with friends and family.
Initially there were ten women who met weekly at Isabel’s home in Ballarat where she has a craft room permanently set up.
Many of the items on sale are based upon wooden profiles made by a family member in Queensland, or by members of Ballarat East Men’s Shed who generously donate their time and labour. The group now has four very active members who get together each week in Ballarat to decorate the profiles and present them for sale. They are always on the lookout for new ideas that can provide items that would be popular with those who purchase from their stalls. Over 3,960 items have been produced by these very busy hands and we applaud the dedication of this team.
CIKA is the main beneficiary of these goods and they are on sold throughout Victoria by other members of our hard-working volunteer groups.
Out thanks to Marj, Eileen, Isabel and Barbara who are pictured above, behind CIKA member Ruth
