Celebrate 36 years of CIKA…

This was the call that attracted eighty supporters to QPO in Kew on a cold, wet July night, for an evening of fun and dancing. We are really grateful to Colleen Clift who organised the venue, to the students at Methodist Ladies’ College who provided a stunning selection of baskets for the silent auction, and to RCH stalwart, Mary McGowan, who took over as MC at the last minute when our patron, Channel Seven’s Peter Mitchell, was unfortunate enough to be struck down by laryngitis.

Guests danced to the music of the seventies and eighties, and enjoyed the hospitality of QPO where we were made most welcome. CIKA appreciates the help that we were given in organising this event.

From L-R, Sam and Julie Casilli and Jenny Carafa.

We are most grateful to The Woodpeckers, a group of long-time CIKA supporters who used the dinner dance as an opportunity to present a cheque for $4,000 to help in our fight against childhood cancer. This brought the total for the evening to $12,427.

Marguerite, representing The Woodpeckers, looks very happy for someone who has just handed over a cheque for $4,000 while CIKA president, Sandra Lehrer (right) is thinking about how to spend it in support of cancer research.
We are very grateful to The Woodpeckers for their ongoing generosity.
