A Great Few Weeks for CIKA

The CIKA team continues to raise funds in many ways and the week preceding Easter was an example of the breadth of fundraising throughout Victoria which achieved fantastic results.

A big thank you to all the CIKA members involved in the planning and execution of these events.

Ruth Edelsten, known as Rocket Ruth certainly had her skates on with an early start meeting on April 6th with the Bendigo Posties who have been fundraising for CIKA since 2017 with monthly raffles held at their workplace.  As always their enthusiasm and energy for supporting CIKA was reflected in a very generous cheque that was presented to Ruth.  Thank you to ALL those involved, and what an amazing amount raised: $4,700.00.

The Bendigo Posties are real CIKA Champions and we say a big thank you for the terrific amount that they have raised this last year. Left to Right Chris, Ruth and Lisa. Ruth is proudly holding the fundraising cheque for $4,700.

After an early morning start with the posties, Ruth made her way to the Bendigo Market Place where she had a stall of mixed items and a very busy day ensued.

On April 10th Ruth attended the Market at Lake Weeroona where her stall items, especially jumpers and beanies, flew off the counter.  Well done Ruth especially in such a very busy week.

Ruth, along with her very supportive husband John and long time CIKA supporter Susie were run of their feet at the Lake Weeroona Market.

Christine and Andrew (Wood Days) Duyvestyn provided the meals for the weekend event for the Hotspur Smoky River Vintage Rally on April 2nd.  The following Easter weekend they set up camp at the Warracknabeal Vintage Machinery Rally flipping pancakes.  Great results from both events, a wonderful initiative, and a terrific start to the Wood Days in November.

For many years CIKA has had a Hot Cross Bun stall at The RCH on the Thursday before Easter (Maundy Thursday).  This year, added to the mix of buns, Sala and her crew (with special thanks to Lou) had prepared lovely Easter hampers, hand crafted chickens and a selection of toys for Easter gifts.  The pace of sales was fast and a very successful day resulted.

A suberb effort from Sala, Lou, Rachelle and Colleen.

A huge amount of work went into this stunning stall that Sala and her crew presented at The RCH on Maundy Thursday.
